Boules ou Pétanque
The modern version of Boules was born.in 1907 - at the village of La Ciotat (along the coast from Marseille) where the game was invented.
They called it "pieds tanques" (planted feet) which later became "pétanque".
Here it is being played in the Place de St Jacques, along the ramparts of Béziers
