The plaque on this monument on the "Seuil de Naurouze" commemorates the laying of the foundation stone on the 9th October 1825 by the descendants of Pierre-Paul De Riquet, Baron De Bonrepos and founder of the "Canal Royal De Languedoc" otherwise and better known as the Canal du Midi
