La Cavalerie - Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem
"La Cavalerie" a Medieval Stronghold of the "Knights Temler" - the junction of ancient roads and pilgrimage routes and today of the A75 motorway and N9 trunk road, in the 12th century this was a Templar holding. Situated at the heart of the rich Plain of the Temple, the Templars made the most of its strategic situation as a communication hub leading to the south and the embarkation ports for the Holy Land.
