As one travels down the Canal du Midi you come to the "Long Pound". About halfway along you reach the "Junction Canal" which leeds down to Sallèles-d'Aude, then on to the crossing of the River Aude to take you onto Narbonne. The crossing is known as "Gaihousty".
The upper lock, the start of the Junction Canal which takes one up to the Midi Canal.
The same hire boat, as before, now getting ready to go on up through Sallèles-d'Aude - in must be the longest straight stretch on the Canals, about 7/8K.
