Midi Canal - Gailhousty Lock
As one travels down the Canal du Midi you come to the "Long Pound". About halfway along you reach the "Junction Canal" which leeds down to Sallèles-d'Aude, then on to the crossing of the River Aude to take you onto Narbonne. The crossing is known as "Gaihousty".
The Canal du Jonction which takes one through Sallèles-d'Aude - then onto the Canal du Midi. iIn must be the longest straight stretch on the Canals, about 7/8K.
