One of the houses surrounding the "Place de la Canourgue", was home to Ferdinand Foch whilst he was in charge of the Montpellier Garrison. 1851 - 1929 Field Marshal of France, Great Britain and Poland, Commander in chief of the Allied Armies in 1918
