"Allégorie du souffle" Tapestry in the Church at Albas

The West wall of the Church at Albas with the tapestry "Allégorie du souffle" which was inaugurated yesterday, 8th August ................................................ The tapestry "Allégorie du souffle" is the work of Anne Cornaly with the help of her daughter Oana Damman and also Francis Robert. The work has taken 15 years to complete and was woven on looms in a studio near to the church at Albas. The work is made up of 13 panels which interlock and has Old Testament and Christian imagery as well as universal human symbols. For example there is an eagle which is symbolic of contemplation and is connected to John the Baptist and it is also a symbol of spiritual regeneration.
