The highest point of the Canal du Midi, 200 m above sea-level, is at the "Seuil de Naurouze", between Castelnaudary and Toulouse. Here you will find the Obelisque in memory of Pierre Paul Riquet - South Side "A Nymph symbolising the 'Montaigne Noire' pouring water from an Urn into the 'Rigoule de la Pleine'. This water becomes the two currents of the 'Partage des Eaux' of the Canal du Midi - Neptune in the direction of the Atlantic and Venus towards the Mediteranean.........
