St André church - Montagnac

This is one of the rare examples of Gothic architecture in the South of France. It was designed with three naves and three apses. Construction of the church stretched from the end of the XIIIth to the middle of the XVth centuries. The church, with its dungeon pierced by twin bays, its corner watchtowers, its hoarding and its drawbridge, was designed to protect Montagnac and its market fairs from roaming hordes of brigands
