The "Pic de Nore" in the Montagnes Noire (Black Mountains)

View from the Pic de Nore which, at 1211 metres or 3973 feet, is the highest point in the Montagnes Noire. It is just above Pradelles-Cabardes which is north of Carcassonne. There is a very large TV Transmitter station there - The view is facing directly south over the Aude Valley and the Corbières towards Mount Canigou (the peak on the left of the photograph - which is 90 km away as the crow flies!!)
