Via Domitia & The Oppidum d'Ambrussum

Photo - 4 "The Oppidum of Ambrussum" - The only arch that is now left out of the original thirteen in Roman times - This Bridge which is perhaps the oldest of the region, maybe built at the time when the wayside stop was created around 30 B-C. Still in use in the middle-ages as there was a chapel in the XIIth century and the settlement of a small religious community in the XIIIth century. It was partially dismantled in the XIVth century by Gallargues' inhabitants. River flooding also caused the destruction of several arches
