Canal du Midi - The River Orb Crossing
Canal du Midi - The River Orb Crossing - originally The Midi Canal descended down to cross the River Orb by a staircase of 9 Locks - this shews it's old entrance to the river. It is now very much overgrown and in a rather 'sorry' state ! In 1858 a new Aquaduct was built - with the river lowered for a short time - the pilons to guide the barges down the river to the Eastern entrance to continue down to Séte, are now visible
