With all the flooding around the world at the moment - these houses built on the beach at Gruissan Plage could be of interest. Originally built at the beginning of the 20'th Century as a Holiday Resort for use in the Summer months - on "stilts to protect them from the winter storms. Setting for the opening scenes for the French Cult" Film "37°2 le matin" - aka "Betty Blue"

One of the "chi-chi" restorations - note that nowadays people are filling in the underneath part. This is because there is now an artificial sand dune running along the coast
