Château de Peyrepertuse
Situated high on a rocky ledge which commanded the old border between France and Spain. Built on the site of the old Cathar Refuge of Guilhem de Peyrepertuse.
The fortress is in two parts - here, looking down from the "High Fort" across the valleys, which were the original border with Spain
